Artist’s Bio

Marie-Claude Dupont has always been fascinated by the arts. In 1985, she starts working freelance as a professional writer, proofreader and journalist (theater, dance, visuel arts).

After having worked for a community radio station, she moves to the TV french network of Société Radio-Canada where she will be acting as a public relations officer, researcher, assistant producer and producer, mainly in the TV news and current affairs newsroom.

The year 1996 marks her debut in the new media field. She becomes the editor in chief ot an Internet magazine and its website. In 1999, she is recruited by Vidéotron and will be a key player in redesigning their Web portal, forming and training a new team of Web journalists, and enhancing the products and services provided. In 2001, she will plan the merge of that web portal with the Canoe’s network websites.

In 2002, Marie-Claude Dupont joins Air Canada where she successfully designed and launched, the Canadian air carrier ’s online travel agency. During three years, she oversees merchandising tasks, develops new platforms for small and medium businesses and review customer experience practices for the Air Canada e-commerce web sites. She also participates in the relaunch of the new technology platform of Air Canada.

In 2005, she gets back to television field, which has always captivated her. With the well known journalist and producer Stéphan Bureau, she initiates the new version of CONTACT, the encyclopaedia of creation, a TV documentary series that features great creators of our time. She acts as the line producer and editor in chief ot the TV series and its web site.

Besides her career as an Internet expert and a tv producer, Marie-Claude Dupont, alias M.C. Dupont, is a doll artist and a painter. Her dolls were featured in two books: Designing the Doll, by Susanna Oroyan, and 500 Handmade Dolls: Modern Explorations of the Human Form, by Lark Books. In 1997, she wrote an exhibition catalogue entitled Zoom sur les miniatures (Zoom on miniatures), based on a peculiar exhibit on miniatures that was held in Québec City at the Musée de la civilisation. She has several works in progress such as screenplays, shorts stories and children stories.

M.C. Dupont was born in Quebec City. Since 1996, she lives in Montreal, Canada.
